Scavenger Hunt

           I liked this project a lot because we got to bring in our own things to draw. There are a few flaws to this piece, however. I should have drawn the whole picture a little bigger since it doesnt take up the entire page so it looks kind of funny. I thought I did a farely decent job on this piece, I liked drawing it too and I thought that this was my best shading that I did this year. My favorite thing about this piece was my dinosaur. I really like dinosaurs. If I was to do this project again, one of the only things I would do would be to make the entire picture bigger, the ribbon could have been done better by making it less stiff looking, the candy could have been over by something and not in the middle of nowhere looking kind of awkward and lonely. The most difficult part of this piece was probably the pig. It was rather difficult for me to draw the pig since it is a wierd shape to draw. I learned that everything has a shadow...even when you don't notice it.

Water Colors!

           


            I liked the first flower that I painted (which was the middle one) and then the other ones look like absolute crap. The daisy doesn't even look like a daisy, and neither does the sunflower! The petals are way too huge for the daisy and the petals for the sunflower are way too small. The tulip actually resembles a tulip, which is good I guess since I was trying to paint a tulip, but the other flowers suck, a lot. The only thing that worked about this piece was the tulip, everything else didn't work. If I was to do this project again I would throw out the two flowers on either side of the tulip and probably paint different types of flowers or try to use the same flowers again. The most difficult part of this piece was having to wait for the paper to dry before you could paint again or else the paint will bleed and mess everything up!! This happened to my sunflower. For my daisy, I tried to shade using orange but I didn't alwats wait for it to dry and it ruined the paper that I was painting on. The most difficult part of this piece was painting without outlining it first. I learned that water color painting is great if you know how to use it!!

Magazine Reflection

 

 

           I liked this piece even though it was kind of difficult. It was difficult to have everything lined up which I sucked at. Another difficult thing to do was the writing in the corner, I ended up just scribbling in where the words were at instead of writing them in since I didn't get the font right and it looked kind of stupid with the words written in since they weren't exactly straight. I liked drawing this piece even though it was difficult. I thought that it was okay, but it could have been better. I should have shaded some areas in a lot better than I did and I didn't relize how much I didn't shade until I saw the picture on here. What worked about this project was that it wasn't a complex picture, it was a single flower in a vase, so there wasn't too much to mess up. If I was to do this projet again, I would definetaly shade a lot better. I learned that I suck at shading.

Geogebra

              This piece of amazing art is called "Waves of Coolness". It was created using Geogebra. It included trigonometric sequences for "X", I'm not sure exactly what the sequences are though.

Contrast and Composition

         I thought that this was an interesting art project. I liked drawing it out and all, but I made it too detailed and it took a rather long time to paint it. I feel like if I made it less detailed and maybe made the letter parts a bit bigger it would look better since I painted over some parts so it wouldn't take as long. I thought that I could have done a much better jod, this project was kind of sloppy . It looked good before I started painting it! Then it looked awful after it was finished. If I was to do this project again I would spend more time on it to make it look better since I kind of rushed through it to get it done. The most difficult part of this project was filling in all the details which took a lot of time. I learned that a lot of detail takes a lot of time!

Geogebra Art!

       This is piece is called "Waves of Awesome". I used trig functions for "X ", other than that I'm not sure how I got the differnet types of waves because I didn't write down the sequences. I created this by using Geogebra.

Letter Abstract

          I really liked doing this project because it wasn't that hard! I liked the end result of it, some of the letters maybe should be facing a differnt way, I think I intended for the "E" to be facing a different way so that it would look more like an E and less like a 3. What worked about this project was that most of the letters looked pretty good except the "M". The M doesn't even look like and M, it looks kind of weird and that is one of the things that I would change about this project. Another thing that I would change about this project would be probably zooming in on the "A" more like the letter are supposed to be. The most difficult part of this piece was the curly things in the "E"; it was hard to paint around them without going over them. I learned that it was pretty hard drawing out the letters, but other than that, the painting was pretty easy.

Cartoon Skeleton

      
          For my cartoon skeleton, I drew Mickey. I thought that this project was very hard since I had never seen a Mickey Mouse skeleton before and it's hard for me to imagine what something is supposed to look like before I've seen it, so this project was rather difficult for me. Drawing the actual Mickey was difficult too because if you don't draw a cartoon just right it looks completely wrong, especially the eyes, and his eyes aren't perfect so he looks kind of weird. For the most part I thought that it was kind of good. Mickey's jaw is kind messed up in the skeleton drawing because I didn't draw the lower jaw low enough so it opened like in the left drawing. If I were to change anything I would deffinately start with the skeelton's jaw because that bothered me the most when it wsa finished. I would also make the skeleton Mickey's tail a bit longer since it's longer in the left Mickey. The most difficult part of this piece was trying to imagine what a skeleton Mickey should look like since I never seen one before. I learned that drawing cartoons are a lot harder than it seems!!

Character People

         I liked painting this project. I thought that it was fun creating the character and its background. I think that it could have been done better though. The khaki coloring of his uniform could have been more khaki colored. I also made the character too big which cut off his feet, part of his head and his hat. The squirrel also looks kind of weird an dit should have been made a different color. The tree should have looked more like a tree and less round. What didn't work about this project was making the character too big, the tree and the squirel, those are also the things that I would have changed about this project to make it look better. The most difficult part about this piece was creating the sky blue color and making it light enough to look sky blue, but that also didn't exactly turn out. From this piece I have learned that even though it looks like you have a sky blue color, it is actually a lot darker than an actual sky blue.

The Great Doodle Assignment

     I thought that this assigment was fun to complete but hard to think of things to put on it. But once I started thinking of things the page filled up eventually. I don't think that it looks very good still though. Some things didn't turn out so bad on this piece because they looked better when it had ink on it, but some things are harder to go over with ink because they were swirls or scribbles. If I was to do this project again I would maybe do some different types of designs in like sections, like I did in part of the drawing. The most difficult part of completeing this piece was trying to think of thigs to draw and put on the page and going over the swirls with ink. I learned that its hard to think of different doodle styles and use other exisiting doodle styles at the same time.

Kiln Creature

    I liked making a kiln creature and I also found it relativley easy too. I made a little pig out out clay. I thought that the pig ended up looking decent, but kind of a weird shape. Other than that I would say the pig turned out pretty well. The ears gave me trouble at first because they dried before I finished molding them since they were so small. I also gave the pig feet but they kind of got smooshed when I put him standing up right so the feet didnt really turn out. If I was to do this project over again I would probably just glaze the pigs eyes on instead of making it eye sockets and not giving it any eyes, but the eyes looked really creepy when they were on it so he just ended up with eye sockets with no eyes. I wouldn't say the pig was difficult at all to complete, if anything it would be shaping it. I learned that if you procrastinate for three days, something will finally come to you and it won't turn out too bad, you just don't have very long to do it.

Clay Mug

     Working with clay was one of my favorite things that we did so far this year. It was messy and the mug didn't exaclty turn out perfect which was frustrating but it is apart of making things with clay. Overall I thought that the mug turned out good but the glaze was a little messy. The rings that we made the mug out of were still evident because I didn't smooth it out completely before it was put in the kiln. The mug was kind of small and thick but it wasn't too sloppily made. The handle wasn't straight either, if I could redo my projec that is one of the things that I would change. I also would also smooth the mug out more before it was put in the kiln. I would also glaze the whole mug blue and put some green design or something on it instead of the stripes that are on it, or just put more stripes on and make them smaller too. The most difficult part was making the bottom for me. I don't know why but I had trouble just in making the bottom of the mug. I learned that in order to make a mug without using a wheel you have to make rings first, I didn't know that before, I thought that you just started shaping the mug.

Color Wheel

          I liked painting this project although it was difficult in parts. Mixing the colors so that they would have an equal amount of both colors so the secondary or tertiary color wouldn't look more blue than green or more yellow than red etc. I thought overall the color wheel looks good from far away or in a picture like the one above, up close it doesn't look as good. Some areas had white spots where the two colors met and that could have been painted better. Other than that I thought that it was a good project. If I was to do this project again I would paint the outside part of the wheel better so it wouldn't look so sloppy, I would also add more white to the colors when making them lighter so the change in shades would be more drastic. The most dificult part of this piece was adding enough white to make the shades of color more evident. I learned that painting is a lot harder than it looks even though what we had to paint was relatively simple.

One Point Hallway

       I thought that this piece could have been a lot better. The lines are were drawn in the wrong spots which makes the hallway look like it is slanting to the right. I thought that the hallway was alright for a first try, it looks kind of unfinished with the bricks on the wall. What I thought worked about this piece was the trophy case, I thought that was drawn well. What didn't work was the ceiling tiles getting too small past the EXIT sign. If i were to do the drawing again I would draw the lines in the right spots so it doesn't look like the hallway was slanting. The most difficult part for me was drawing the ceiling tiles, but they didn't turn out the way I wanted anyway. I learned a lot from this piece actually, I now know how to draw a hallway so it doesn't look slanted, how to draw things going towards a vanishing point and how to draw ceiling tiles not so small at the beginning so they aren't really tiny at the end of the hallway.

Luke Skywalker

         I thought that the Luke Skywalker drawing wans't that bad. His face doesn't really look like his actual face in the action figure. Even though his face doesn't really look like him I think the overall drawing looked alright and acurate to what the action figure looked like. What didn't work on this project was his knees. I think that his knees look like black dashes instead of wrinkling. What worked was that the drawing of the action figure looked decent overall. If I were to do this project again I would try and make his face look more like Luke Skywalker, because right now it doesn't really look like him. The most difficult part of this part of this project was the shading because it was hard to draw where the light was in the right spots, and sometimes if I drew the light in the right spots it still wouldn't look right. I learned that drawing wrinkles are a lot harder than you think they are.

Two Point Name

        I liked drawing this project. I thought that it turned out pretty well. I liked that it turned out a lot better than my other name in one-point perspective. The letters a relatively even with all the other letters and the letters aren't really different sizes and weird looking like the other name drawing. What worked was that the drawing looked decent, what didn't work was in some spots there are dots where I held the pen there for too long. I don't think I would change anything about this project except maybe the colors if I were to do it again. The most difficult part of this project was the shading because it took a long time to do. I don't remeber learning anything from this drawing.

Rainbow Hallway

          I thought that this project was a little too colorful. I meant for the floors too be the only colorful part of the project but I got a little out of hand. I thought that this project would be a lot better if I toned it down on the colors. If I kept the walls and ceiling one color it would look a lot better. What worked about this piece were the arrows and the wall drawing. What didn't work were the weird looking animals on the floor and the over abundance of color. The changes I would make would obbviously be the color and leaving the walls and ceiling either white or light gray. The most difficult part of this project was all of the coloring which took a long time, but wasn't necessary. I learned that you can have too much color.

One Point Perspective Name

        I didn't draw this picture very well. I didn't spen very much time on it and rushed through it. The letters are really skinny and unequal. The spacing is also uneaqual between the letters. I don't think that this piece was sucessful at all. I don't think that anything "worked" on this piece at all. If I was to do this drawing all over again I would spen a lot more time on it and measure it out and make sure that the letters were equal sizes and make the letters not so skinny and awkward looking. I should have only used a couple colors too and not the whole rainbow. The most difficult part of this piece was using a ruler to make sure that all the lines were straight, but I can't use a ruler very well so I didn't do very well on this project. I learned that if you take a little bit of time to do a project that it will look like you took no time to do it and it will look like crap.

Still Life

    I thought that this project looked kind flat and I shaded in a bunch of different directions. If I shaded the parts in one direction then it would have looked better. I also drew it kind of small and only in one corner of the page and it didn't take up the whole page. You also can't tell that the candleabra is not facing you, it's facing towards the left corner of the page and you can't tell that the first flower thing is closer to you than the last flower thing. I also didn't draw the wrinkles in the table cloth correctly. I thought that this piece overall was alright. What worked was that it didn't look terrible and that you can't tell the mistakes I made unless you saw what I was drawing. What didn't was that i didn't take up the whole page and only took up the right side of the page, also the biggest po twas a little too big. If I was to do this project again i would make the biggest pot smaller and make the drawing take up thw whole page instead of just the right corner. The most difficult part of this piece was probably shading. If it was shaded a certain way it didn't look right, then I had to do it all over again. I don't know what I learned from drawing this piece.

Coke Can

          I think that this project was harder than I originally thought it was. It was harder to draw the crushed popcan because the letters were everywhere and not the way they were supposed to be like in a normal pop can thought that I did okay on it and I could have made a few better changes to make it look more proportional. What worked about this porject was that I think I did the "Coca-Cola" part of the can well, but the cans are two different sizes and are on the wrong side of the black paper. If I were to do this project again I would make the cans the same size and fix a few letters in both of the cans. I would have made the uncrushed popcan a little taller or skinnier and make the crushed popcan match the size of the uncrushed can since it's a little small. The most difficult part of this piece was trying to make it look just like the pop can that I was trying to draw and make it all look proportional to the original pop can. I learned through this pop can drawring that drawing pop cans are not easy.
